Max started DJing in Harrogate in 2014, going on to perform at venues and events across the town and throughout the country. Duncan began working professionally as a DJ after lockdown, before the pair started playing events together.

Our story
Built from experience on both sides of the DJ booth.
With over 20 years of combined experience behind the decks, Max Czernik and Duncan Mythen have performed at venues and events across the country. Between them, that experience covers busy bars, venue residencies, weddings, private parties and large celebrations for a wide range of audiences.
MDAV brings that background together with a growing network of trusted DJs, singers, musicians and venues. Today, the team plans and delivers entertainment, sound and lighting around each event, giving clients one experienced point of contact from the first conversation to the final track.

History
From one local DJ in 2014 to a growing events company working across Harrogate and beyond.
MDAV begins
After working together on several events, Max and Duncan started MDAV in September 2024. The following month, the business held its first event at Ivory: a showcase of what the new partnership could offer.
From showcase to contract
Off the back of the Ivory showcase, MDAV was invited to deliver events at The Majestic Hotel over Christmas 2024. Those events led to an ongoing contract in 2025, while the business continued building lasting relationships with venues, DJs and other people across Harrogate’s events industry.
A wider events company
In 2026, MDAV expanded into live entertainment and continued working alongside venues across Harrogate. MDAV Events Ltd was incorporated on 1 May 2026, marking the next stage of the business.

MDAV is founded
After several events together, Max and Duncan decide to turn their working partnership into MDAV.
October 2024
The first showcase
MDAV holds its first event at Ivory, giving guests and venues an early look at the new business.

From Christmas events to contract
The Ivory showcase leads to Christmas 2024 events at The Majestic Hotel. Off the back of those successful dates, MDAV is awarded an ongoing contract in 2025.

Building the network
MDAV focuses on developing strong working relationships with venues, DJs and event professionals around Harrogate.
2026
Live entertainment grows
The offering expands beyond DJs to include singers, musicians and other live acts, with MDAV working alongside venues across the town.

The business incorporates as MDAV Events Ltd, formalising the company Max and Duncan had built together.
